Fried Kam Heong Crab UDON Noodles


- Heat Oil, saute chopped Dry Prawn, Garlic & Onion till fragrant
- Add in Curry leaf, chopped Chilli Padi
- Add in (Curry Powder, Oyster Sauce, Soya, Sugar & Dark soya) to your taste
- Add in Crab, stir fry until well mixed
- Add in Cabbage
- Lastly, add in (Pre-blanched) UDON noodle, until well mixed.

Craving....... of "Asam Laksa"

Out of sudden think of "Asam Laksa", but it will be too troublesome by spending half a day in the kitchen, after cooking one big pot but just eat 2 bowls.
See!!! I got this Quick n Easy way to solve my craving....




1) Heat Oil, fried Garlic, Small Onion and Dry Prawn till fragrant


2) Add in Tom Yam paste, continue to saut for a whole.
3) Add in"Laksa" noodle, stir well
4) Add in Big Onion, Lemon grass, Wild Ginger Flower bud (Bunga Kantan), Lime juice. (Optional : Polygonum Leave - Daun Kesom)


5) Adjust seasoning (salt & pepper) to taste.
6) Garnish with Cucumber, Pineapple or any vege of your choice.

Ichiban

when I saw my neighbor chop off the branches of her curry leaf tree, (she says want to let it grow again) I ask her gave it to me, so I can think of something to cook.... end up I found "Kam Heong Loh Shi Fun" in my recipe book, tat used lots of curry leaf.
and coincidence I had 2 packs of "Udon noodle" in the fridge tat supposedly for my "Black Pepper noodle", (lazy to drive out just to buy a pack of "Loh Shi Fun")
so just give it a try, and it turns out to be......., HuH!!!!! Ichiban....


Kam Heong sauce (u can prepared this before hand & frozen it)
* Heap up oil, fried dry prawn, garlic and onion till fragrant.
* Add in Curry leafs, Chili Padi
* Add in seasoning
Mixture of : curry powder, light soya, dark soya, little oyster sauce & sugar
* Stir fry till aromatic.

PART II / continue from above....
* Add in cabbage, followed by any seafood of your choice
* Last, add in pre-blanched Udon noodles and mix well.

Extra Please!!

Asked my store boy to Ta Pao Mc D for me, reminded him to ask “Extra Chili Please”.
Short while he came back with my “BIG MAC” + a “BIG BAG” of chili sauce. I was like “Oh! My God!!” expect him just to take extra 2 / 3 pac, don know how he sweet talk to the counter stuff and get this privilege!!!

Luckily I still got a way to settle it, or else of storing in the fridge, will end up in dustbin too.




Vegetarian “Mee Mamak”

1) Sprinkle some salt onto tofu, pet dry and fry till golden brown (or get a pre-fired from fresh market) – Cut square.

2) Saute Big Onion (quarter), Tomato & Green Chili
3) Add in vege of your choice
4) Add in yellow noodles & tofu, mix well
5) Spoon in the Chili sauce
6) Season with Dark Soy & Light Soy sauce
7) Toss on the potatoes (preboiled & diced)

** Optional : Add in an egg or stir in Taugeh. **

Recycled

Tunghoon in Mushroom Sauce

** Make use of the Mushroom Steams whenever you cut it away from Mushroom head, you can store them in freezer for later use **

- Heat up oil, fry chopped garlic & onion till fragrant.

- Add in blended black mushroom steams (pre-soaked, chopped & blended)

- Add in seasoning (Soy sauce, Vegetarian Oyster sauce, Salt & Pepper) and water to boil

- Add in Tunghoon and bring to boil (add water if too dry)

- Last add in shredded Vege of your choice (Carrot, Dried lily bulbs, Spring Onion, Red Chili) and simmer till cooked.

Love & Memories












Fried Teo Chew Mee Teow /Pek Mee - White Noodle

Almost 30 years I didnt touch on this dish loh!! (am I revealing my age???) Hahaha....

specially Thanks my Lau 3 & Lau 4 Jia (brought it all the way from Pangkor Island) & my Lau Da Jia (for guiding me step by step - over the phone)

my MUM used to cooked this dish for prayer on every 1st & 15th of the month. Dun know why? I was too young to ask her any story/reason behind it.

beside frying, it goes well with Curry or Asam Laksa.

try this out, U will lover it too. (if you could not find the Pek Mee, U can substitute it with Mee Sua)


Ingredients :-
Pek Mee (White Noodle)- 1 packet
Garlic - Chopped
Dry Shrimp - Chopped
Taugeh & Kuchai


Method :-
1) Boiled the Pek Mee till soft and rinsed in cold water. Set aside
2) Fried garlic & dry shrimp till fragrance.
3) Add in the Pek Mee and some seasoning (Soy sauce, Oyster sauce & Pepper) to taste.
4) Stir in Ku Chai
5) Last, add in Taugeh, stir well and ready to serve.
